Are we trapped in subscription services? 👀

Subscription services used to be good. I used to have a fair few myself.

However, over the last few years. The services themselves have gone downhill.

When Uber 🚕 released it was game-changing, the concept of never having to pre-book a taxi anymore was enough for people to sign up and use it.

Fast forward many years now and this is the current state of Uber.

Uber now has a tier list of Comfort, XL, Black, Luxe, etc.

There are many tiers involved. Bear in mind. The cars did not change. However, now they have categorised the cars so they can get as much money from consumers as possible 🤑🤑🤑.

Another example is Amazon Prime. Prime was and is amazing. Is it getting worse though?

Prime Video 🎥 - Ads are included in the normal tier of Prime now. The whole point of Prime and Netflix was to let people watch without ads. At least Netflix only runs ads on the lowest tier.

Prime shipping 🚛 - Automatically selects the second fastest delivery method by default. The whole point was to be able to get next-day shipping with a Prime membership.

Uber Eats is probably the worst culprit of them all. After purchasing an Uber One subscription, there is still a minimum spend before you can get free delivery on your food order??

Comment below what monthly subscriptions you have and are they still worth it after all these years?
